About Me
My Story
With three decades of expertise in curriculum design, eLearning development, and education, I have cultivated a passion for creating impactful learning experiences both in-person and online. Throughout my career, I have consistently sought innovative techniques to facilitate effective learning, emphasizing efficiency in time and resource utilization.
In my most recent role as a Senior Learning Experience Designer at VMware, I played a pivotal role in developing instructor-led and eLearning courses for the Carbon Black cybersecurity product. Collaborating with fellow instructional designers and subject matter experts, I leveraged my extensive experience to generate fresh content and seamlessly transition in-person learning experiences into dynamic eLearning courses.
During my tenure as a classroom technology teacher, I was immersed in the constant evolution of software products, necessitating the continuous creation of relevant content. Additionally, I contributed to curriculum development for the State Department of Public Instruction and Stanly County Schools, impacting thousands of students and hundreds of teachers.
My current focus on the business community reflects my enthusiasm for sharing expertise in adult learning, corporate training, and eLearning development. I am dedicated to delivering impactful solutions that align with the evolving needs of organizations and individuals in the dynamic field of education and training.
Personal
After a little over a year working for one of the world’s leading software companies (VMware), I am now looking for a new challenge. Prior to my time with VMware, I retired from the public school classroom after 29 years. I had an enjoyable and successful time in the classroom but am looking forward to continuing my career in the instructional design realm.
My wife and I have a pug who keeps us entertained, and in my free time I enjoy movies, sports, and the beach.
